CAO provides support to the poorest children so that they could continue their education: either with a scholarship of 30$/year/child or by providing a bicycle: the project provides 35$ and the household pays the rest, 10$.As for every program, CAO insists on strong community participation. The community and the schools mobilize their energy to allow the poorest to continue their education. They thus keep a strong feeling of ownership, they can proudly say: “we have done this!” The other benefit is that the beneficiaries make their best efforts to succeed at school, with the moral support of their community. Finally, thanks to the high local participation, CAO can do much more with its limited resources.
