EDUCATION

Many poor and vulnerable students have dreams for their future, but their families cannot afford to support their education. CAO helps connect these students with sponsors who can provide the financial support they need to continue their studies and pursue their dreams.

With the right support, these children can stay in school, develop their potential, and build a better future for themselves and their families.

CAO supports children from the poorest families so they can continue their education. Support includes a scholarship of $50 per child per year or a bicycle to help children travel to school. For bicycles, CAO contributes $40 while the family contributes the remaining $10.

Community participation is at the heart of the program. Schools, families, and community members work together to support the most vulnerable children, creating a strong sense of ownership and responsibility. They can proudly say, “We have done this together!”

This community support also encourages children to make their best efforts at school. By combining local participation with CAO’s limited resources, the program can reach and support more children in need.

Every year CAO supports about 100 children.

Community participation is proof of solidarity so that the poorest children will get a scholarship or a bike to continue their education. Community participation is a condition set by CAO for its support.

Eyesight Project

Poor eyesight is a major but often overlooked barrier to education for children in rural Cambodia. Many students struggle to see clearly in the classroom, which can affect their learning, confidence, and future opportunities.

CAO combines vision screening, eye examinations, glasses, and educational support to help vulnerable children overcome these barriers. Through this project, children can see more clearly, learn with greater confidence, and have better opportunities to succeed in school and build a brighter future.
