EDUCATION
More poor students waiting for sponsor to complete their dream when their families cannot support them.
CAO provides support to the poorest children so that they could continue their education: either with a scholarship of 50$/year/child or by providing a bicycle: the project provides 40$ and the household pays the rest, 10$.
As for every program, CAO insists on strong community participation. The community and the schools mobilize their energy to allow the poorest to continue their education. They thus keep a strong feeling of ownership, they can proudly say: “we have done this!” The other benefit is that the beneficiaries make their best efforts to succeed at school, with the moral support of their community. Finally, thanks to the high local participation, CAO can do much more with its limited resources.
Every year CAO supports about 100 children.
Community participation is proof of solidarity so that the poorest children will get a scholarship or a bike to continue their education. Community participation is a condition set by CAO for its support.
Vision for Learning: Empowering Children in Rural Area
Poor eyesight is a major but often overlooked barrier to education for children in rural Cambodia. Many students struggle to see classroom materials, affecting their learning, confidence, and future opportunities.
By combining vision care and educational support, the project has removed key barriers to learning, improved children’s well-being, and created better opportunities for vulnerable students to succeed in school and build brighter futures.
