A Little Kanika and mother
Kanika is a very small and little girl just about 5kg of her body weight. The parents are very poor cannot send her to hospital because of no money. They even cannot provide her an enough milk to drink. She lives with heart, acutely respiratory disease, down syndrome and malnutrition (doctor speech). After discussion with CAO and her family so we decided to post her story on Facebook to raise money and support for her treatment in Phnom Penh. First, CAO supported 50$ for their first check up and transportation to Phnom Penh to see doctor. Her treatment in Kantha Bopha Children’s hospital is free but we need to pay on food, drink, other materials. Her diseases are very chronic so she must stay long in hospital to treat respiratory first. Down syndrome they cannot treat but at least her parents can understand how to train her to live with other. When other syndrome recovers, they will start to operate her heart (communication interarticular). She stays about one and half month in hospital.
We also collected about 200$ from Facebook and supported for the expenses and milk in hospital. All the donation through Facebook and supporting from CAO is not enough, but her father is always trying hard to supported behind. After finished treatment and successful operation, today she is much better, she can breathe well and gain weight a lot. She has enough formula milk for drinking and the parent always bring her back to see doctor follow their appointment in Phnom Penh.
Lastly, her mother is very happy to see Kanika with good health and she would like to send the word of thank you to donator through Facebook, CAO and Kantha Bopha Children’s hospital for donating and give a good and free treatment to her daughter. She will keep this action in her mind and wishes everyone all the best.
